M. P. Jayaraj:-
M. P. Jayaraj (1946–1989) was from a poor family background, belonging to Ganiga caste. He was brought into forefront of Bangalore underworld by M. D. Nataraj, the then son-in-law of the Chief Minister of Karnataka Devaraj Urs.[1]
Legend has it that Devaraj Urs was so impressed from the selection of
his son-in-law, that the only question he asked him was what caste he
belonged to and when he got the answer, Jayaraj was made president of
the "Indira Brigade" – the youth wing of Congress party.
Jayaraj's story
When Jayaraj was shot dead near Siddapura in Bangalore, Ajith was just
eight months old and Helen 19. Jayaraj's brother M P Umesh married her
and since then, she has done everything to safeguard Ajith. Her fear was
that people from the underworld would come back to haunt her and suck
her son into the quicksand of crime.
“I was very young when Jayaraj married me. He died, leaving me in a state of shock. But I wanted Ajith to lead a good life. So I digested everything and went away from it all. We have struggled a lot to build his career. I wanted him to choose any field other than the underworld.
Now, he is doing his MBA while acting in a movie. I'm happy he is a good human being,” Helen told Mirror.
Ajith says he owes everything to his parents, Helen and Jayaraj. “I really miss my father. I was a few months old when he died and since then, my mother has done great things for me. Even now, I hear people talking about him.
All that is happening now is because of him. The past is past and I will not blame anyone for what has happened. Now I want to achieve something — academically as well as in the film industry — and fulfil my mother's dream.
This is just the beginning,” Ajith said. “It is a suspense thriller in which six youths go on an action-packed road trip. I hope people will like it,” he added.
